We have developed in-house GIS software and procedures
that allows us to efficiently collect vegetation information
during field work.
Whereas most vegetation studies end with a paper report, often with hand
drawn maps in the back, our vegetation management projects are designed to be
used in a GIS from the outset.
An example of a roadside vegetation map. For this project we created almost 2000 unique polygons, each with attributes such as vegetation quality, habitat potential, site disturbance, etc. The database was designed to be easily updated by staff as site conditions changed. |
